Iced Coffee

Tips:
1. Don’t let your coffee drinks get watered down with plain ice cubes. Freeze some coffee ahead of time in an ice cube tray. When you make you ice coffee, just add a frozen coffee cube or two.
2. Plan ahead. You should brew your coffee ahead of time, to give it time to cool before preparing your iced coffees. Though some recipes call for hot coffee to s tart with, most drinks will be far tastier if you chill the coffee first. Don’t leave it out for too long while still warm. Pop your coffee into the refrigerator once it’s down to room temperature, both to cool it and to keep bacteria at bay..
3. A lot of good iced coffees call for whipped cream on top for the finishing touch. Flavored whipped toppings are available or can be easily made.

Frost Miss

More of a dessert than a drink, this recipe is thicker than a milkshake. Makes a great summer time treat.

1 cup brewed coffee
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon almond extract

Dissolve sugars in coffee while it is hot. Let cool, and add almond. Pour into a metal tray and freeze until nearly solid. Beat well, then freeze again until it reaches a sherbet texture. Serve topped with whipped cream.

Coffee Latte Shake

This coffee shake is thick and flavored with coffee and chocolate. The trick to making it thick, is the instant chocolate pudding mix.

1 cup coffee, strong and cold
1 cup cold milk
10 ice cubes
1/3 package of instant chocolate pudding mix ( I used the sugar free chocolate fudge……yummm)
Hazelnut cream, to taste (optional)
Sugar or sweetner, to taste

Combine everything in a blender, and blend until ice is crushed and shake is thick.

Cinnamon Caramel Coffee

Add the cinnamon before brewing to give this recipe spice touch. You’ll need to stir well to blend in the caramel syrup.

6 Tablespoons ground coffee
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup caramel dessert syrup

Mix the cinnamon into your loose ground coffee and then brew a pot of coffee by whatever method you prefer. Add the caramel syrup to the cinnamon-spiced coffee, and stir well until completely dissolved. Chill through in the fridge, and serve over ice cubes with added milk or sugar to taste. They syrup makes this iced coffee pretty sweet as it is.

Pumpkin Coffee

Add one teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice to the coffee grounds and perk as usual. Let coffee cool. Combine coffee, some ice, a little sugar or sweetner, a little creamer in your blender……Viola….a cool pumpkin coffee.
